Compare Handheld GPS
Garmin, Lowrance and Magellan are some of the most popular GPS
systems. In order to choose the best system however, one must compare
handheld GPS’ with other models. Magellan designed the Triton
1500 Adventure Pack. This GPS system is one of the outdoor adventure
models with a 2.7 QVGA color touch screen.
It has the SiRF Star III chipset with preloaded base map and digital
music player. This is by far one of the most sought out systems
because it does have that music system. It also has the SD card
compatibility offer with built-in voice recorder and flashlight.
It is compatible with national geographic maps.
The Magellan 400 does not have the voice recorder, flashlight,
or music player. Garmin made the eTrex, eTrex Summit, Legend, and
the Venture. Each GPS system has its own unique style and features.
The eTrex series positions updates in one second while the Summit
takes five minutes. This is one of the waterproof systems so you
will never have to worry about water damage.
The eTrex, Summit, Legend, and Venture have backlit display. There
is not really much difference in the systems in comparison, only
that some of the more advanced systems such as Summit, Legend, and
Venture have a few extra features.
It is good to compare handheld GPS features to ensure that you
get what you want.
The Garmin Oregon 400i is the latest handheld touch screen GPS.
It is portable and has a wireless receiver module. Garmin made this
system for outdoor use in cars or marines. It comes complete with
compass, altimeter, map, display, touch screen, timer, color, etc.
The NUVI 760 Bluetooth wireless portable GPS by Garmin has some
of the same features as the latter GPS, but you get keypad, map,
address book, MOB, etc.
