User Reviews about Garmin nüvi 265 265T 3.5-Inch Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator with Traffic (Factory Refurbished)
This is the perfect GPS. I just needed one to navigate around the traffic and through busy LA. The traffic feature does help, but it isn't perfect, with a very optimistic "time of arrival" estimate. However, the directions are clear and the features are easy to use despite the smallish screen. Very happy with my refurbished unit, and at less than 1/2 the cost of a new one, it's great. Takes a long time to upload the maps (hours with DSL), but you only do that once. Has all the necessary features (glass mount, power cord, etc.) but no carry case. -- Fancy features at a bargin price
So far, so good. I like it so much I may buy a few as gifts for family members. You can't go wrong with the Garmin. -- Very happy! Should have bought it a long time ago!
I have had this unit for about 2 weeks now and have few complaints about it.
Basic navigation is pretty easy. I would prefer a QWERTY keyboard but the A-Z touch screen isn't bad. I have wide fingers (aka I'm fat), and have no problems entering information. Finds addresses most of the time, and even when it doesn't you can find the map location and still get there. It didn't find my parents' house by address, but they live way out in the boonies. Still got great satellite coverage.
Some people complain about the notice the unit gives you for turning (0.2 miles), but most of the time you're given enough time to make the turn. The countdown to the next turn/action is displayed, so you can still get plenty of notice.
I've used the Bluetooth with my phone. Works great.
The biggest complaint I have about the unit is that finding places by name is a little tricky. Maybe it's because things change so often, but it didn't have my friend's motel listed even though they have owned it for years. Knowing the address for newer places may help. -- Works great!
I have been fairly happy with our Garmin Nuvi 265T. I have had several other units and this one is better than most as far as accuracy and ease of use. I do really like being able to look up points of interest, businesses, and restaurants.
Occasionally when I first turn the unit on it has a garbly voice, but if I turn it off and then back on it is back to normal. This has happened two or three times since I bought it 6 weeks ago, and I use the unit probably 4 days of the week.
Also, I was a little dissapointed in the traffic controller, it only works in large urban cities that submit their traffic/construction news to whomever runs the traffic controller info. So for our cross country trip it was almost entirely unhelpful. However, it seems to work fairly well here in our home area of Tulsa, Oklahoma. -- Garmin Nuvi 265T
Recondioned unit works as well as the new unit we bought last summer! Best feature: small but large enough to easily read map. -- Fabulous little GPS. Can be used on bike or foot, too.
