User Reviews about TomTom ONE 130 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator (Factory Refurbished)
This basic product does its job on an okay basis. However, readers/purchaser must know about a couple of issues about it.
1) It does not speak out the real street names, e.g. it does NOT say "In 1/2 mile, turn right on Park avenue", instead, it says something like this, "In one 1/2 mile, turn right" or "Ahead, turn right". This is a big problem if someone is driving in a downtown area or in California/Minnesota (CA and MN do not permit drivers to mount the GPS on car-windshield).
2) It is not particularly friendly if you don't know the address of your destination and instead want to use the destination's name. For instance, suppose you want to go to the nearest U-Haul store or Winco store but you don't know the address of the same. Now if you type the store's name on the search box under the POI (Point of Interest) option, it might not give you the real result.
The closest Garmin product that addresses both these issues is Nuvi 255W. However, it might be $15 more expensive. I purchased both TomTom ONE 130 and Garmin Nuvi 255W and the latter serves my purposes better.

Works very well as a GPS, and that's the important point. It is not compatible with Vista, and the costumer support was terrible. It looked like they are aware of the problem and they have no solution, but they don't want to admit it, so the give me various task to do, which obviously don't help but hopefully you will give up contacting them. Their tactic was successfull I gave up. Works well with XP on the other hand.
It locks in 10-60 sec, but never looses signal after that. (Except tunnels of course.) -- Good product
We bought this as a gift for an older gentleman. I did set it up, but was very easy. Maps looked up to date and product worked great. No CD came with it, but i am sure you can go online and do the updates etc. for the price point, it is a great buy. -- Does what it says
